I have a new addiction now, Pinterest :) I love it. As my hubbie is currently out of work we have been forced to more creative avenues for the kids parties. Most of my ideas have been borrowed & embellished slightly.
Monster bookmarks From this blog
Simple yet effective.
Monster party bags, I had the plain red bags from a previous party & then I added the face. The idea came from this blog. I added a mouth though.
For the party bags I saw some added toy monsters, as these were for 8yr olds I thought I'd make them with a twist. I stuffed them with rice & made monster hand warmers, so cute yet useful.
I'm going to add the instruction label which was a monster pad & I just wrote the words out & stuck them on & then printed them onto card.
The Monster wreath was a budget version too. Copied from this blog, she used tuille I used cheap net & instead of a wreath I cut two circles from card then taped them together & then cut strips off some 60" jersey fabric i had & taped that on & wrapped it round. I then just tied 12" strips of net around with the ties at the centre & some at the edge. Two styrofoam balls with eye balls marked & two pieces of foam for the teeeth & viola :)

Pride, Wenlock & Mandeville
My kids were very excited at the London Olympics. They of course loved the mascots & wanted one each. There were no patterns so I had to make them. They proved a real challenge & stretched my pattern writing skills. Think I sold one but I had 3 happy kids & it was very good practice for me.

Christmas Peppa
Poor Lotso a little further on but wanted to do something quick for Christmas. My Mum has paid for us all to go to Paultons park for Christmas to see Santa & of course Peppa pig world is there so a festive creation was in order. Lucy loves them

I.G.G.Y
My boys latest craze apart from Pokemon is Moshi Monsters so I thought I'd have a go at making their favourite as apparently Iggy is a rare card!
My poor Lotso still isn't much further & I've still got two more things to make for my friend who's baby is due very soon, however this pattern I did manage to whip up in just a few nights & the boys love them :)

Peppa Pig
Lucy is going to pre school 4 days a week soon so I hope to have more time on my handfs to write. I have been trying to think of new patterns to write but my brain is permanently bombarded with the children & their wants & two of my friends are expecting girls so I'm making things for them.
Peppa I made a while ago as my second pattern before I lost mometum
My little one loves them. I need to publish this before I forget & get sidetracked onto something else

Lucy's Backpack
This is my first post so bear with me if its rubbish :)
My little girl loves Dora & she is only 2 so I thought I'd try my hand at writing a pattern for her to hopefully sell a few as my Ebay business is dying a death & I no longer enjoy it.
I was a self employed dressmaker for years until I had the kids then did Ebay & sold childrens clothes but got back into crochet when I was pregnant with my daughter & now I am once again addicted.
I am hoping having a blog will inspire me to write more patterns as I've done two now & stopped as there are so many wonderful patterns to make I don't seem to find the time to write them or the enthusiasm.
It started with a sketch, some yarn & a hook, here are the finished results :-
I had great fun making the pattern, the only complicated part was the binoculars
I was pleased with the results, I just hope the ones I sold turned out well too. I did all the accesories & was very careful not to list it as Dora's backpack so as not to infringe copyright yet I still came a cropper in ravelrys tester group as the mod said I was not acceptable as it was copyright if someone thought it may be likened to Dora, I guess things work differently in different countries. My pattern wasn't tested but haven't had any complaints so hopefully it is ok :)
It is a proper working backpack & with adjustable straps it should be good for a few years, she loves it & so far all pieces look good as new which is a miracle as she isn't a dainty girl :)
