I have a new addiction now, Pinterest :) I love it. As my hubbie is currently out of work we have been forced to more creative avenues for the kids parties. Most of my ideas have been borrowed & embellished slightly.
Monster bookmarks From this blog
Simple yet effective.
Monster party bags, I had the plain red bags from a previous party & then I added the face. The idea came from this blog. I added a mouth though.
For the party bags I saw some added toy monsters, as these were for 8yr olds I thought I'd make them with a twist. I stuffed them with rice & made monster hand warmers, so cute yet useful.
I'm going to add the instruction label which was a monster pad & I just wrote the words out & stuck them on & then printed them onto card.
The Monster wreath was a budget version too. Copied from this blog, she used tuille I used cheap net & instead of a wreath I cut two circles from card then taped them together & then cut strips off some 60" jersey fabric i had & taped that on & wrapped it round. I then just tied 12" strips of net around with the ties at the centre & some at the edge. Two styrofoam balls with eye balls marked & two pieces of foam for the teeeth & viola :)

Pride, Wenlock & Mandeville
My kids were very excited at the London Olympics. They of course loved the mascots & wanted one each. There were no patterns so I had to make them. They proved a real challenge & stretched my pattern writing skills. Think I sold one but I had 3 happy kids & it was very good practice for me.
